Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Barista Trainer to lead the training and development of our barista training courses, and to support our Hospitality business client projects. This is a trainer consultant role, and the Barista Trainer will ensure the training meets our high standards for coffee preparation, customer service, and overall café experience. This role is ideal for someone who loves coffee, enjoys teaching and training, and strives for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hands-on training sessions for new hires and existing staff on espresso techniques, brewing methods, latte art, and equipment maintenance.
Develop and implement comprehensive barista training programs, manuals, and SOPs.
Evaluate trainee performance and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support.
Ensure consistency in beverage quality and service standards across all locations.
Stay updated with coffee trends and industry standards; introduce improvements when relevant.
Coordinate with Hospitality teams to identify training needs and performance gaps.
Assist with onboarding new baristas and help them build confidence in their skills.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Represent the Servers Excellence brand values and act as a role model in professionalism and service excellence.
Qualifications:
5+ years of barista experience; previous training or leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, equipment, and brewing methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, encouraging, and passionate about teaching others.
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team setting.
Certification in coffee training is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced café or training environments.
Occasional travel across Canada.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
